And the smiles were stretching from attendees to volunteers alike on Saturday at the McLean County Children's Christmas Party, which returned to the Midwest Food Bank.

On December 2 in Chicago, Bloomington’s John Penn was inducted into the Illinois Labor History Society’s Union Hall of Honor.

McLean County notched a rare Democratic victory in electing union-member Sharon Chung to represent the new 91st District. Chung is now the first Korean-American to serve in the State House and defeated Republican Normal Town Council member Scott Preston by 1,200 votes.

The 40th annual Children’s Christmas Party for McLean County low-income families will be held Saturday, December 10th from 9 a.m. – noon at the Midwest Food Bank, 2031 Warehouse Road in Normal. There will be a gift and food distribution along with a special guest appearance by Santa.
