Pierce County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO strongly condemns President Trump’s March 27 executive order dismantling collective bargaining rights for federal employees under the false pretense of national security. This is nothing more than a brazen, unconstitutional attempt to silence workers, strip unions of their power, and push a dangerous anti-labor agenda.

Federal workers dedicate their lives to serving the public—ensuring critical government functions continue without disruption. Stripping them of their right to collectively bargain does not strengthen national security; it weakens the very workforce that keeps our country running.

Let’s be clear: this is union-busting at the highest level. The intent is to consolidate power in the hands of the few while silencing the many. This order is not just an attack on federal workers—it is an attack on the labor movement as a whole and a warning sign for all workers, public and private.

PCCLC stands in full solidarity with our union siblings across the country. We will fight back against this injustice with every tool at our disposal, because an injury to one is an injury to all.

Alice Phillips, President
