Patti Dailey-Shives
Patti Dailey-Shives (they/them) serves as an Executive Board Member of the Pierce County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO and is a member of WFSE Local 53. Patti works as a state employee at Tacoma Child Support and brings more than four decades of labor movement experience to their leadership. Their union journey began in 1981 as a member of AFSCME while working as a state employee in Alaska.
Patti’s leadership extends across labor, political, and disability justice spaces. They serve as Secretary of WFSE Local 53 and are active with Pride At Work and the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW). Patti also contributes to civic and political engagement as a Legislative District 25 State Committee member, a member of the Washington Democrats Executive Board, Chair of the Washington Democrats Disability Caucus, and a participant on the Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues and Employment. Through these roles, Patti works to ensure labor voices are represented while advancing equity and accessibility for workers across Washington.
Based in the Puyallup area, Patti is the proud parent of an adult son and enjoys a unique creative pursuit outside of their advocacy work — breeding and showing pedigreed American Shorthair cats around the world.
