Jade Monroe
Jade Monroe (she/her) is on the Executive Board of the Pierce County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO and is a member of WFSE Local 872. She works as a Food Waste Scientist, bringing a unique blend of environmental expertise and labor advocacy to her role. With nearly a decade in the labor movement, Jade is passionate about strengthening worker voice, building solidarity across unions, and ensuring public sector workers are valued and supported.
Jade previously served four years as President of her local and played a key role on the bargaining team that secured significant wage increases for Environmental Specialists. Her organizing background reflects her belief that strong unions are built through education, organizing, and collective action. In addition to her union involvement, Jade is connected to broader community and advocacy efforts through Washington Immigration Solidarity Network.
Originally from Faulkton, South Dakota and now rooted in Tacoma, Jade enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring the community, and beekeeping. She is also involved in music with her band, Sweet Marilyn, and brings creativity, warmth, and a strong sense of solidarity to her work both inside and outside the labor movement.
