2025 Labor Essay Scholarship

2025 Labor Essay Scholarship Contest

 

High School Juniors and Seniors from the four-county region (Licking Co., Knox Co., Muskingum Co., and Coshocton Co.) are invited to submit an essay for consideration for the 8th annual Licking-Knox-Muskingum-Coshocton Labor Council, AFL-CIO Labor Essay Scholarship Contest.

Essays should include research and discussion on:

 “The Importance of the Labor Union movement and its impact on today’s workforce.” 

 

Please include sources.

Submit required information through Google forms.

Essays should be no longer than 3 pages.
The Deadline to submit Essays is March 17, 2025. 
There will be at least two $2,000 Scholarships awarded.

Winners will be notified by April 1st.

Award Ceremony April 23rd.

Federal unions—and all unions—are under attack.

In March, the Trump administration took its most blatantly anti-worker, anti-union action yet: an executive order stripping the right to organize from hundreds of thousands of federal workers at more than 30 agencies.  

Now representatives in Congress have introduced the bipartisan Protect America’s Workforce Act, which would overturn Trump’s executive order.

We are asking every single American who cares about the fundamental freedom of all workers to join a union to call their member of Congress right now.
