The Bloomington & Normal Trades & Labor Assembly presented their annual awards at their Holiday banquet on December 6.  With higher education workers organizing, the "2442 Labor Militancy Award" went to two Illinois Federation of Teachers locals.  The award is named in honor of Normal Fire Fighters Local 2442, which endured 42 days in jail during their 1978 recognition strike.  The Heartland Adjunct Faculty Association (HAFA) negotiated a new contract this year.  Pictured here are HAFA vice-president Jean-Marie Taylor, Trades & Labor president Robert Paul, and HAFA preident Ashli Anda.   Illinois State University faculty successfully organized this year, with Illinois Federation of Teacher Local 4100.  Pictured here are Trades and Labor President Robert Paul and United Faculty of Illinois State University bargaining team members Julien Corven, Katie Krcmarik, Mark Zablocki and Sheryl Henry.
