Charles A. Spurlock Scholarship

Named in honor of the late Charles A. Spurlock. The Southwest District Labor Council awards scholarship(s) to Marshall University students each year.  Recipients of the scholarship must have a GPA of at least 2.5 and be a union member or retiree or dependent of a union member or retiree residing in or working in the counties of Cabell, Wayne, Lincoln, Logan, and Mingo.

Rylee Spry - Kenova, West Virginia.

Rylee is a Graduate of Spring Valley High School and freshman is majoring in pre-biology. Rylee's father, Bryan Spry, is a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 317.

 

Cidney Fortney - Alkol, West Virginia.

Cidney is a graduate of Scott High School is majored in psychology. Cidney’s father, Thomas Fortney, is a member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, Local 1353.
