      Unless for unforeseen reasons or due to a holiday the Southwestern District Labor Council, AFL-CIO meets the 2nd Monday of each month, 6:00 p.m., at the SEIU 1199 Union Office, 501 5th Avenue -Suite #2, Huntington, WV 25701

      Affiliated Local Unions in good standing shall be entitled to active and or retired representation based on per capita tax paid to the West Virginia AFL-CIO and according to the following schedule: 250 members or less --5 delegates & 5 alternates / 251-500 members -- 6 delegates & 6 alternates / 501-750 members --7 delegates & 7 alternates / 751-1,000 members – 8 delegates & 8 alternates. One delegate and one alternate delegate for each additional 400 members or any fraction thereof, above 1,000. NOTE: When a Union chooses representation, an active member should be given preference over a retired member.

      A union retiree club/chapter shall be admitted as an affiliate of the Council with one (1) delegate and one (1) alternate delegate. Where two or more union retiree clubs/chapters desire to affiliate with the Council and are eligible to do so, that affiliation shall be through a council of union retiree clubs/chapters. A Union Retiree Council shall be entitled to three (3) delegates and three (3) alternate delegates, regardless of the number of union retiree clubs/chapters within the Union Retiree Council.

      Constituency groups that are approved and recognized by the AFL-CIO, including the Alliance for Retired Americans (ARA) shall be entitled to one (1) delegate and one (1) alternate delegate.
