Sam Ferraino Stands in Solidarity with CWA 1084 at Camden County Board of Social Services Rally
Sam Ferraino, President of the Southern New Jersey Central Labor Council (SNJCLC), joined a spirited rally hosted by Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 1084 in Camden, New Jersey, to advocate for workers at the Camden County Board of Social Services.
The rally, held to demand a fair contract for the hardworking employees of the facility, brought together union members, leaders, and community supporters, all united in a common cause: respect and dignity for the workers who provide vital services to the county's residents.
In his address to the crowd, Ferraino emphasized the importance of solidarity across the labor movement. "When one of us is under attack, we are all under attack," he said. "The Southern New Jersey Central Labor Council and all our affiliated unions stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the members of CWA 1084 in their fight for a just contract. These workers deserve fair wages, better working conditions, and the respect they’ve earned through their tireless service."
The workers at the Camden County Board of Social Services play an essential role in ensuring that the county’s most vulnerable populations have access to critical resources, including housing, healthcare, and food assistance. Despite the significance of their work, these employees have faced prolonged contract negotiations, and they are calling on the county to come to the table with a fair and equitable agreement.
CWA Local 1084 members, accompanied by their allies, made their voices heard with chants, signs, and heartfelt testimonies highlighting the challenges they face on the job. The show of unity and determination was a reminder that the fight for workers’ rights is a shared struggle.
The SNJCLC, under Ferraino’s leadership, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to supporting labor unions across South Jersey. By attending rallies, facilitating resources, and amplifying the voices of workers, the council reinforces the strength of collective action.
As the rally concluded, Ferraino left the workers with a message of encouragement: "Your fight is our fight. Together, we will continue to demand justice and fairness for all working people."
The Southern New Jersey Central Labor Council commends the members of CWA 1084 for their resilience and determination and pledges ongoing support until a fair contract is secured.
Stay tuned for updates on this important labor action as we continue to stand together for justice and fairness.
