New Scholarship Application Now Open: H.B. “Scoop” Slack Memorial Scholarship

The Burlington County Central Labor Council is proud to announce that applications are now open for the H.B. “Scoop” Slack Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship honors the legacy of labor leadership and supports the educational goals of students from union families as they take the next step toward their future.

Scholarship Details: This year, the Council will award four scholarships valued at $1,000 each. The program is designed to help graduating high school seniors continue their education and pursue meaningful career paths through college, university, or approved trade and technical schools.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a graduating high school senior• Plan to attend a college, university, or approved trade/technical school• Be the child of a current or deceased member of a union affiliated with the Burlington County Central Labor Council• Provide verification of union membership with their application

Please note: Essays generated using artificial intelligence will be deemed ineligible and will result in disqualification.

Application Deadline: All required documentation must be submitted by Monday, May 4, 2026. Applications may be emailed or mailed, but must be received by the deadline to be considered.

Scholarship recipients will be honored at the Community Service Award & Scholarship Banquet on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Madison Restaurant, 33 Lafayette St, Riverside, NJ.
