VALLEJO WELCOMES THE US NAVY BACK TO TOWN THURSDAY - MAY 31ST - 1 PM ON THE WATERFRONT
Friends, please mark your calendar for next Thursday May 31st, 1 pm at the Vallejo Waterfront to welcome the United States Navy back to town! The USS Emory S Land, a Submarine Tender with over 300 sailors on board will be berthing at Mare Island Dry Dock for repairs and will be part of our community for over 100 days.
A committee has been working feverously to organize a celebration to welcome the Navy back to Vallejo and connect the crew to our rich Naval History. The ship will be arriving to the Mare Island Straits at 1pm and in a flash back to the days of old the sailors will be lining the rail so that we can give them a long-awaited Vallejo Welcome.
We are asking people to show up to the waterfront at the Ferry Building where we will have a Drumline from Vallejo High School and other surprises for a Red, White and Blue Welcome on the Waterfront! We will be lining up along the railings along the waterfront to wave flags and show our support for those that put themselves in harms way for our Country. So break out the hats, t-shirts and flags, grab the Kids and Grandparents and come down to the Vallejo Waterfront and celebrate our rich history and honor the troops.
