A CALL FOR ACTION TO ALL OUR UNION AFFILIATES:

Labor Sibs, the Vallejo City Council will be holding hearings on May 30th and June 1st beginning at 4:30 pm to decide whether they will direct staff to certify the EIR on the Orcem Cement Mill project. We are asking all of our Union Brothers and Sisters to contact all of their Vallejo Members and urge them to email, call and consider attending the meeting on May 30th.

Please call all of the Council Members and let them know that we are interested in facts about the project not the current misinformation and fear tactics employed by the opposition. Only by asking for a certified EIR can they be sure that they are making the right decision for all of the citizens, not just a vocal few. The projects owners have signed a project Labor Agreement with the Building Trades and have agreed to staff the facility with Union Workers. Once they call and leave a message have them follow up with an email so it assured that the Council Member gets the message!

Also let them know that if they vote to get the facts that we will have their backs when the opposition continues to attack them for doing the right thing. Facts not Fear!
