For Your Information...July 12, 2019

UFCW 555 needs your help.

Stronger contracts mean
Stronger Communities.

And when we stand together as a strong community, we get stronger contracts. Together, we make a difference. We are UFCW Local 555. Show that you stand with us–even if it comes to a strike–by signing our petition at

Oh, and while we're at it, should hard-working grocery journeywomen at Fred Meyer be hired into lower-paying jobs? Learn more at We say it's NOT OK for the men who run Fred Meyer to make more by paying women less.

NABET-CWA 51 workers at KOIN TV channel six in Portland needs your help.

NABET-CWA is part of the Communications Workers of America. CWA is "The Union for the Information Age," representing 700,000 workers in communications, media, airlines, manufacturing and public service. Local 51 represents photographers, editors, web producers, engineers, commercial production, directors and assignment editors.

Local 51 has been negotiating for two years with KOIN TV in Portland. KOIN has come to the table with some outrageous proposals, including an open shop, $50 per month per worker to process dues, cuts to overtime provisions, etc. Local 51 believes management's goal is to bust the union. Please sign the on-line petition

Note: "This post covers the new contract agreement for State employees. Homecare workers, Higher Ed workers and other members of our union will settle contracts at a later date."
