Press Conference Photos
Collectively, we make sure labor has a voice in the local media on how legislation will affect active and retired workers. Press conferences typically happen a few times each year, and we ask union members and friends of labor to participate in these events. We also encourage members to write "Letters To The Editor", keeping the voice of the working class in public media, so our concerns are seen and heard.
Thank you for speaking up, and showing up - Union Strong!
All unions support OH Senator Sherrod Brown! Below is an event in Amherst at the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers local 23 hall, where many trade unions and others joined to speak about his record of fighting for labor unions, and to support his campaign. https://chroniclet.com/news/405105/workers-for-sherrod-campaign-tour-stops-in-amherst/

Citizens Not Politicians, which started as a signature gathering in the spring turned into one of the most heated ballot initiatives in Ohio history. Issue 1 was a citizen led initiative to end Gerrymandering (political leaders drawing their own district maps to guarantee their continued election wins). if Issue 1 would have passed we would have sees some real changes in Ohio State legislation, including better school funding, affordable housing, less cuts to vital community programs, etc. The language on the ballot was purposefully written to mislead and confuse many voters into voting No

With the help of labor unions and volunteers educating the public, Lorain County voted ISSUE 20 DOWN!

Collectively we defeated Issue 1! This was an attempt by those in power to eliminate majority rule in Ohio from 50%+1 to 60% on citizen initiated constitutional amendments.
