Desks and Chairs Donated to students in need at Roosevelt Elementary

On Friday, September 18, 2020, the Lehigh Valley Labor Council and TeenWorks of United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley donated funds for desks and chairs to give to students in need at Roosevelt Elementary School in the Allentown School District.

For the Community Service Project, the desks and chairs were assembled, socially distanced, in the school parking lot. Faculty members identified the children in need of the furniture in order to do school work from home. Some families came to pick up the desks and chairs. Labor Liaison Dean Donaher organized the event and was even able to facilitate getting desks delivered to families that were not unable to pick them up.
