It is the right of every registered voter to cast their vote, whether you choose to vote by mail or in person.

Working families deserve a leader who will focus on “we, the people,” not just on the person they see in the mirror. Only Vice President Joe Biden can be that president. I’ve known Joe for 40 years. He loves his family, loves working people and loves our country. His “Made in America” plan will revitalize America's manufacturing in a way Trump never could. Biden doesn’t only have the best plan to beat the virus and help workers recover financially—he is the only candidate for president with a plan at all. And with a Biden administration, we’ll finally pass the PRO Act, allowing workers to join a union freely and fairly.

If you have not completed and returned your ballot yet you still have many options to cast your vote.

The intended purpose of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is to protect ‘employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices' and protect 'the right of private sector employees to join together.’

DACA

Since announcing his run for office, Donald Trump has made it clear that he has an issue with people immigrating to the United States from Mexico and South America.

In rhetoric that has consistently been highly inflammatory and xenophobic, he paints people seeking asylum as criminals. That includes berating and mistreating youth brought to this country. Along with this divisive language has come divisive policy, like trying to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA.

Growing up in a household that regularly discussed the rights of workers, Maryland State and District of Columbia President Donna Edwards has always had a strong interest in legislation and political action. Being a trailblazer for women just came with the territory.

We are truly all in this together. We work collectively, we bargain collectively, and we vote collectively for a reason. We are stronger as a union. It is each individual member that makes up our unions and we want to encourage all our sisters and brothers to make their voice heard in this historic election while also being sure they stay safe.

Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

The legislation called the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) is something that sounds too good to be true. Guess what? It is.

Millions Excluded from Paid Leave During Pandemic

In the Families First Coronavirus Relief Act (FFCRA) the Department of Labor under the Trump Administration issued a temporary exemption on the availability of paid leave to some employers. This included 9 million healthcare workers, businesses with under 50 employees, and 4.4 million first responders.
