Statement About Ongoing Federal Government Shutdown

Delaware State AFL-CIO President Nelson Hill released the following statement about the ongoing federal government shutdown:
“In Delaware and beyond, federal workers have already been under attack by Trump’s Project 2025/DOGE agenda. The last thing they need is a shutdown.
“The federal government is shut down because this administration chose chaos and pain over responsible governing.
“Countless jobs, the essential government services we all rely on and the economy are in jeopardy right now—all because the administration wants to take one more swing at wrecking the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and throwing working people off our health care.
“Delawareans can’t afford the Trump/Republican government shutdown. Federal workers in Delaware will go without paychecks and many Delawareans will lose their health care coverage.
“The Delaware State AFL-CIO’s message to the administration and their allies in Congress is clear: Get to work. Fund the government. Fix the health care crisis. And put working people first.”
